About
Luke Marlin is a singer for hire in Central Coast, NSW.
Over ten years of weddings, corporate functions and parties on the Central Coast, and Luke Marlin can be as small or as big as the day needs. Solo acoustic for the ceremony and canapes, a duo or trio for the reception, and he'll MC and DJ between sets if you'd rather not hire three separate people. The band is built to order: acoustic and electric guitars, bass, drums, saxophone, bongos and congas, depending on what you're after. Songs run from old classics through to whatever's on the radio now, Johnny Cash to Vance Joy. He supplies the PA and lighting.
Watch
The show
Luke Marlin scales to the day. Nice cocktail and dinner music while people eat, then a set that keeps the floor busy once the tables clear, and he'll build the band to whatever the room needs. Acoustic guitars, electric guitars, bass, drums, saxophone, bongos, congas, put together depending on what you're after and what the space can carry. The through line is a performer paying attention to whether the guests are enjoying themselves rather than working through a fixed list.
On the day
The PA and the lighting come with him, so the venue doesn't need a system of its own. The part worth doing early is the conversation about musicians. Luke Marlin will work through the best combination for your function with you, taking the room size, the format and the sound you want into account, and that decision shapes how much floor space and power you'll need to set aside.
