About
Greg McInnes is a singer for hire in Brisbane, QLD.
Three decades of playing, and no backing tracks. Greg McInnes builds his solo sound live with a looper, a stomp box for the beat, harmonica, and both acoustic and electric guitars. The material comes from five decades of classic rock and blues, from Bill Withers and CCR through Midnight Oil, Crowded House and George Ezra, plus originals he's written in a country rock and blues vein. He works Brisbane and the Sunshine Coast, at corporate functions, weddings, festivals, bars and cafes. Expect groove, a properly crafted lead break and vocals with some feeling in them. He needs 240 volt power and a spot under cover.
Watch
The show
No backing tracks. Greg builds the sound live in front of you with a looping pedal and a stomp box for the beat, so what you hear is being assembled as it happens. It starts easy, relaxed enough for an afternoon, then lifts into party songs later on. The covers are his own take rather than note for note copies, and he mixes in original country rock and blues numbers he's written himself. Corporate functions, weddings, festivals, bars and cafes around Brisbane and the Sunshine Coast are his usual rounds.
