About

Gary Johns is a singer for hire in Carlingford, NSW.

Gary Johns keeps one of the biggest song lists going in Sydney, and he'll take requests off it all night. Cool jazz and soul for a dinner or a more formal event, or nonstop dance material that keeps people up from the first song through to the last. His list runs alphabetically from 1, 2, 3, 4 through 500 Miles, Africa, Ain't No Sunshine, All Along The Watchtower, All Blues and a long way past that, which tells you how wide the range goes. He's happy talking to a crowd between songs and building the room from there. Sing alongs, dancing, or quiet background music while people eat. Insured. Based at Carlingford.

Ask Gary for either of two quite separate evenings. One is background music while people eat and talk, cool jazz and soul that sits under the room. The other has everyone singing along and dancing, and it runs like that from early on. He talks to the crowd between numbers and reads where things are heading, so a dinner that turns into a party mid-evening is not a problem. Requests come off a very long list, and he'll take them all night.
