About
Dimi is a singer for hire in Sydney, NSW.
Familiar songs, taken apart and put back together. DIMI plays acoustic sets around Sydney that swing between upbeat drive and quiet ballads, filtered through a warm folk sensibility with bluesy rock underneath. The names in the set say a lot: Alannah Myles, Chris Stapleton, Melissa Etheridge, INXS, Noah Cyrus, with Am I Ever Gonna See Your Face Again, Crazy Little Thing Called Love and Before He Cheats among the most requested. Comes with guitar, amp, microphone, stand and leads. A stool and some foldback from the house are welcome but not needed. Available for casual venue work, longer residencies, private functions and weddings, with MC work on offer alongside the music.
Watch
The show
Songs you know, taken somewhere slightly different. DIMI balances the drive of upbeat numbers against stripped back ballads, all filtered through a warm folk sensibility with bluesy rock sitting underneath. Pop sits comfortably in there too. The result is a solo acoustic set that moves rather than staying at one temperature for two hours, and there's something in it for most people in most rooms.
On the day
Acoustic guitar, amp, microphone, mic stand and all the leads come along, so nothing is needed from the venue to make it work. That said, a stool is appreciated if you've got one, and a foldback speaker helps if the room is awkward. Neither is essential.
Performance options
The bookings come in a few shapes. For venues there's the standard one-off casual booking, a three-date trial run so you can see how the room takes to him before committing further, and a six-date residency once it's working. Private functions and weddings are booked as their own packages. And if you want someone on the microphone between songs as well as on the guitar, MC duties and a live set can be combined into one booking.
