About
David Hethorn Music is a singer for hire in Brisbane, QLD.
Familiar covers on acoustic guitar, pitched wherever the day needs them. Quiet background playing over a long lunch. Or the singalong end of things once people have had a few. The song choice runs from Country Roads and Love Story through to Pink Pony Club and Lose Control, and there's an all-Australian set on hand featuring Paul Kelly, Pete Murray, INXS and The Go-Betweens. Sound system and lights can come with him, and he has a battery powered rig that works on beaches and other spots with no power nearby. Otherwise a standard outlet and a dry patch to stand on will do. Public liability insurance in place, certificate available, and all cables tested and tagged.
Watch
The show
Songs people already know, played on acoustic guitar, at whatever volume the room can handle. That's the shape of it. David watches how the afternoon is going and moves with it, so the same booking can start as quiet background music over food and end up with half the room singing along. Nothing forced about it. He's been doing this long enough to tell the difference between a crowd that wants to be left alone and one that's waiting for a reason to join in.
On the day
A standard power point and somewhere dry to stand is the short version. He brings his own sound system, and lighting too if the event wants it. There's also a battery powered rig for the spots with no power at all, which is what gets used on beaches and in gardens away from the house. All his cables are tested and tagged, and he carries public liability insurance with the certificate on hand if your venue asks for it.
Performance options
You pick the mood and he plays to it. Chilled acoustic through a long lunch, upbeat covers when the room needs lifting, or a mix that starts one way and finishes the other. Weddings, parties, private functions and venue gigs are all on the table.
