About
Dale Carmody is a singer for hire in Gold Coast, QLD.
Fifteen years of gigs behind him, Dale Carmody plays solo across the Gold Coast in bars, clubs, cafes and at events. Old songs and new ones, mixed. Bob Marley, Bon Iver, Tame Impala, The Killers, Jack Johnson, Oasis, Springsteen. Cruisy for most of it, upbeat when that's what's wanted, and he'll pull the crowd in rather than play to the wall. He can run up to four hours of live music. He also crosses over to DJing, so a wedding can have the acoustic set and the dance floor from one person. Power is the only thing he needs from the venue.
The show
Up to four hours of live playing from one person, which covers most of a wedding reception or a long afternoon at a venue. The mix leans cruisy for the bulk of it, with the tempo picking up when the room asks for it, so you're not stuck with the same energy from the first song to the last. Fifteen years of Gold Coast bars, clubs and cafes sits behind the way Dale reads that. He plays to the crowd, not past them.
Performance options
One booking can cover the whole night. Dale plays the live acoustic set through the earlier part of a wedding, ceremony and dinner sort of territory, then swaps across to DJing for the dancing later on. It saves you hiring twice and it means one person already knows how the night has gone, so the change of gear doesn't come with a change of read on the room. You can also just book the live side on its own if that's all the event needs.
