About

Beth is a singer for hire in Berwick, VIC.

Three octaves, and Beth uses all of them. She sings, plays guitar and works with quality backings, and the voice impressions are part of the act: Whitney, Elvis, Louis Armstrong. The credits go back a fair way. Runner-up in the Australian Singing Competition in Sydney, and one of six chosen nationally to represent Queensland on Australian Idol's My Mum Rocks. She's shared stages with Brian Cadd, Al Martino, Izzy Dye and John Rowles. The repertoire is enormous, from Amazing Grace and Are You Lonesome Tonight through American Pie, Beds Are Burning and Bad Habits. She works solo or as a front vocalist, brings her own Bose system, and keeps the volume where people can still talk. Charity fundraisers are offered at a reduced rate.

The show

Three octaves is an unusual range for a function singer, and Beth uses the lot. She sings, plays guitar, and drops voice impressions into the night, Whitney and Elvis and Louis Armstrong among them. You can book her solo, or as the front vocalist out the front of a line-up. The material stretches wide enough to suit a company function that needs to stay presentable and a private party that doesn't. Venues of most shapes have had her through, and the presentation is the same either way.

On the day

She brings her own Bose system, so the sound side is handled before you've thought about it. Worth knowing: she keeps the level where a room can still hear itself. Guests can talk over dinner without shouting, and the music lifts when it should rather than sitting on top of everything all night.
