About
Alicia O'Brien is a singer for hire in Mooroolbark, VIC.
The hits of the 50s, 60s and 70s, sung for the audiences who remember them first time around. Alicia O'Brien is a full-time professional singer working retirement villages, morning melodies and seniors events, with high-energy shows built on rock 'n' roll favourites and timeless sing-along classics. There's plenty of humour and audience interaction; the aim is a room that's clapping, singing and laughing rather than politely watching. Twenty years in the music industry has taught this performer how to read a room and adapt on the spot, so every show lands a little differently. Public liability insurance.
The show
Alicia sings full time and knows this audience well: retirement villages, morning melodies and seniors events are her regular week. The shows are high energy and interactive, built on the biggest hits of the 50s, 60s and 70s, from rock 'n' roll through to sing-along standards. She's after clapping and singing and laughing, not polite listening, and she gets it with humour and a warm, cheeky presence that makes the room feel included rather than performed at. Twenty years in the industry means she reads the atmosphere and adapts as she goes. Songs spark memories, and that's usually where the joy comes from.
