Alex Matthews is a singer for hire in Melbourne, VIC.
Fifties through to the 2000s, with a Cliff Richard and The Shadows tribute show and a swag of Elvis in the back pocket. Alex Matthews performs solo on guitar and vocals with professional backing tracks, or as a duo with a drummer, working through crowd songs like Brown Eyed Girl, Black Magic Woman and All Night Long. He reads the age group in the room and picks the mix to match, which is most of the job at weddings, dances, corporate events and private functions. PA and lighting are included, and public liability insurance is held.
Watch
The show
Book Alex as a soloist, a duo or a trio and the job is the same: keep people entertained and keep the dance floor busy. Strong vocals, solid guitar work and high-quality professional backing tracks underneath. It's a straightforward, well-drilled show that doesn't leave gaps in the night.
On the day
One thing helps more than anything else: send through photos of the stage and entertainment area before the day. That way the right gear turns up for your venue rather than a guess at what might fit.
Performance options
Three ways to book it. Alex solo on guitar and vocals, or Alex with a drummer working through hits from the 50s and 60s right up to 2000. There's also a tribute show built around Cliff Richard and The Shadows, and plenty of Elvis in the repertoire. Professional PA and moderate lighting are included with every performance.
