Rich

Relaxing piano, played across a lot of different styles, and easy to listen to whether or not you're paying attention to it. Rich Batsford has been performing solo piano professionally for more than a decade, and before that he played in pop bands that charted and sang with the chorus of a major symphony orchestra. He's a regular at venues including the Adelaide Convention Centre, Chateau Tanunda and Regattas Bistro, and performs right across South Australia. Sets are put together carefully and run up to four hours, taking in standards, classical, TV and film themes, jazz, sixties songs and classic pop. Woven through them are his own compositions, which mix years of classical training with something more contemporary. They've been streamed over 50 million times and get regular airings on ABC Classic FM. One reviewer at The Music Quarter called his playing the ultimate aid for relaxation. He's also played the Big Chill and Gigbeth in the UK, the Fringe in both Edinburgh and Melbourne, and had a strong run at the Adelaide Fringe.

He'd rather play a real piano if there's one available, or one can be hired in. Otherwise he has a digital piano with its own amplification and battery power, which makes him completely self contained. Just say which you want when you ask for a quote, so there's no confusion on the day.
