About
Neil Taylor is a pianist for hire in Wollongong, NSW.
Piano first, everything else on request. Neil works as a live session musician around Wollongong and the Illawarra, and the bulk of his function work is background piano for corporate nights and formal dos, where the music sits under the conversation instead of fighting it. He held a two year residency in the lobby bar at the Wollongong Novotel, and has played Wollongong Entertainment Centre, the Shoalhaven Entertainment Centre, Anita's Theatre at Thirroul, the Heritage Hotel in Bulli, Dapto Leagues Club and The Basement in Canberra. The repertoire leans on Sinatra, Nina Simone, Billy Joel, Norah Jones, Ray Charles and Cold Chisel. If solo piano isn't enough for the room, he can call in other players and build it out to a duo, trio or full band with vocals, sax or guitar.
The show
Neil Taylor Musician has years in the industry behind him and he watches the music side of your event personally, from the first note to the last. He's played a long list of rooms around the Illawarra and beyond, including Wollongong Entertainment Centre, the Shoalhaven Entertainment Centre, Anita's Theatre at Thirroul, the Heritage Hotel at Bulli, Dapto Leagues Club, Mittagong RSL and The Basement in Canberra, plus a two year residency in the Wollongong Novotel lobby bar and a year at Bella Char in Gerringong. He also keeps a roster of players he can call on, so if solo piano isn't enough the booking can grow into a duo, trio or band.
Performance options
There's more on offer here than solo piano. Background music for the parts of an event where people need to hear each other talk, vocal ensembles, a full band mode once the room wants to move, and DJ and MC services if you'd rather one person handled the whole night. Tell Neil Taylor Musician what the event looks like when you enquire and he'll shape a package around it.
