Jack Woodman Piano is a pianist for hire in Albury, NSW.
Six years of playing around Albury and the surrounding towns, plus a long run of busking before that, which is where you learn to read a crowd fast. Jack Woodman plays background piano across jazz, blues, rock and pop, and takes requests both before the date and on it. Birthdays, weddings, luncheons, markets, restaurants. The gear is self contained, one power source and about a square metre of floor, though a bit more space around it keeps nobody sitting inside the speakers. Four straight hours is within his range, no break required, and the set-up, soundcheck and pack-down all happen on his own time.
The show
The first conversation is Jack working out whether he's actually right for your event, which is a decent sign. From there you'll talk through what he provides, then get into the music itself: the artists you like, specific songs you want heard. Closer to the date he'll deal directly with you or with the venue's management to find a sensible window for getting his gear in and soundchecked, so none of that happens in front of your guests.
On the day
One power source and about a square metre of floor, and Jack's self contained beyond that. He does suggest leaving a bit more room around the gear, mostly so nobody ends up sitting with a speaker in their ear. Outdoors he can bring his own shade, but if rain looks likely he'll want some cover over the keyboards and amp.
Performance options
Booked by the hour, and he can play up to four hours straight without needing a break. Set-up, soundcheck and pack-down sit outside that, on his own time. Albury-Wodonga is covered as standard, and he'll travel further out if you're within about 100km.
