About
Not My Circus! is a musical trio for hire in Melbourne, VIC.
Brass house is the shorthand: a trio of horns and drums playing covers with a bit more bite than a guitar band manages. Current hits sit in the set, from Don't Start Now to Flowers to Shape of You, and it changes with what they're liking that month. Requests are fine. They can play completely acoustic with zero setup, which means they can walk in through the door already playing. Bigger rooms want speakers and a couple of clip mics. You book the actual musicians who turn up, drawn from a roster of Melbourne drummers, saxophonists and trumpet players. Working with Children Checks across the group. Quoted by the hour rather than by package, because the bookings vary that much.

The show
Horns and drums instead of guitars, playing covers with a sharper edge than a four piece rock band gets to. The set is full of current material, Don't Start Now, Flowers, Shape of You, and it shifts around depending on what they're enjoying at the time. Requests are welcome. The musicians you speak to are the musicians who turn up, drawn from a rotating group of Melbourne drummers, saxophonists and trumpet players, so nobody gets subbed out at the last minute without you knowing. The whole approach is planning it properly and then staying out of your way on the day.
On the day
Acoustic means literally nothing to set up. No power, no speakers, no bump-in window. They can start playing in the car park and walk through the door mid-song if that's the entrance you want. For a bigger room, or a feature set where the band is the main event, some basic AV helps: a couple of speakers and clip-on mics are enough to carry the sound across the space. A proper stage with lighting lifts it further, though it's never a requirement.
Performance options
There's no fixed package list, and that's a deliberate choice. Bookings vary too much for one to be honest, so the quoting works by the hour instead. Send through the details of your event, the room, the timings, what you want the band doing and when, and the more you can tell them the closer the quote will be to what you actually need.
