About
Wayne Evans is a musical soloist for hire in Brisbane, QLD.
Guitar, voice, and a songbook that leans on the artists who actually wrote the good ones. Wayne Evans works solo across Brisbane, covering classics from the 60s forward and taking in Neil Young and Paul Kelly along the way, with blues and folk threaded through the rest. The room decides the pace. Clubs, pubs, cafes and restaurants get one version of the set, while functions, parties and weddings get another. He's been doing all four long enough to know which is which before the first song. Gear is tested and tagged, and he's insured.

The show
One man, guitar and voice, with a long run of gigs behind him. Wayne Evans plays clubs and pubs, cafes and restaurants, and he takes on functions, parties and weddings too. That mix is the point. He has spent enough nights in each of those rooms to know what a restaurant crowd wants at seven and what a wedding wants at ten, and the set moves accordingly. Nothing showy about it. Just a working solo player who reads a room and picks the right songs for it.
