Tyson Faulkner is a musical soloist for hire in Gold Coast, QLD.

Here's the unusual part: Tyson Faulkner doesn't choose the set list. The audience does, on the night, request by request. It's a harder way to play and he prefers it that way. Based on the Gold Coast, he has been a resident musician at Fiddlers Green Irish Bar since 2007 and has played over 850 shows in that room alone, twice a week at points. The repertoire runs deep enough to survive that kind of asking, from AC/DC and Bryan Adams through Alice in Chains, Adele, Air Supply and Alphaville. He works solo, as a duo with a lead guitarist or a drummer, or as a trio with both. Insured.

The show

What you get is a pub-circuit musician who has done the hard yards. On top of the Fiddlers Green residency, he played more than 250 shows at the Lansdowne Road Tavern in Surfers Paradise and well over 100 across Griffith University's campuses, from orientation week to the uni bar to large community days. Weddings and office Christmas parties sit alongside that. Solo or as a duo, the set bends to the room in front of him. If someone asks for a song he doesn't have, he's known to learn it during the break and play it the next set. And he has filled in at short notice when another act pulled out, so a late booking doesn't faze him.

Four ways to book Tyson. Solo is the simplest. There are two duo options, one adding a lead guitarist who also sings, the other adding a drummer who also sings. The trio brings in both, so you get lead guitar and drums behind him.
