About

Tim Plays Tunes is a musical soloist for hire in Newcastle, NSW.

Newcastle solo work built around the songs people actually shout for. The core of it is 90s and 2000s material with a run of 70s and 80s favourites threaded through, which means Tim can sit back as dinner music or push the room onto the floor depending on how the night is going. Weddings are the specialty. Ceremony, canapes and then a reception set that leans on big backing tracks, or a duo and trio version with live drums if you want more push behind the vocals. All he needs is power within reach, a hard floor or stage to set up on, and cover if you're putting him outside.

Watch

The show

Tim covers a wedding day end to end rather than turning up for one slot. Dinner and canapes get the quieter treatment, then the reception moves onto bigger backing tracks when people are ready to dance. If you want more push behind the vocals, he'll bring it up to a duo or trio with live drums, which changes the feel of the room considerably. Worth asking about early if you're picturing something larger, because the shape of the night gets set well before the day.

On the day

Three things. Power he can actually reach from where he's playing, a hard floor or a stage to stand the gear on, and cover overhead if any of it is happening outside. That's the whole list.

Performance options

The simplest booking is ceremony music on its own, quoted as a stand-alone package. From there you can add the canapes, the reception, or both, and each part of the day is quoted as its own piece. The more Tim knows about your day, the closer the quote gets, so include the details when you enquire.
