Rene Le Feuvre is a musical soloist for hire in Brisbane, QLD.
René Le Feuvre builds his arrangements live. A loop pedal catches guitar riffs, percussion and beats, and he stacks them on the spot until a solo act sounds like a band. The Brisbane singer was a contestant on The Voice AU and has played to stadium crowds of more than 50,000 people, and also to two people at a private proposal. Over a decade of gigs across Australia and overseas sits behind that. His songbook is broad and changes with the room: Bill Withers, Amy Winehouse, Bob Marley, Bruno Mars, Angus and Julia Stone, plenty of pop from the 90s onwards. He'll play quietly in the background when that's what a corporate dinner needs. And he'll take the room on when it wants taking on. Reading which one is required is most of the job.
Watch
The show
What you get is a musician who watches the room before he decides what to do with it. Some nights that means playing softly behind conversation while the entree goes out. Other nights the crowd wants to be led, and he'll take them. René judges which of those a night needs and adjusts as it goes, so the same booking can start quiet and finish loud without anything feeling forced. That reading of a room is the part experience buys you, and it's the difference between background music and a performance people talk about afterwards.
