Ned Walker is a musical soloist for hire in Brisbane, QLD.

Acoustic guitar, piano and a stompbox keeping time underneath. Ned Walker works as a solo piano man, as a guitar and vocals act, in a couple of different duo line-ups, or with a full band. There's a duo with Todd on percussion and vocals, and another with Jimmi on guitar and vocals. The covers list is long and Australian-leaning, with Bernard Fanning, Augie March, Ben Lee and Paul Kelly sitting next to Billy Joel, Ben E. King, Bob Marley and Bruce Springsteen. He's happy to take requests if he knows them. Easy going and easy to book: one powerpoint, a flat covered performance area, and he handles the rest. Brisbane based.

The show

Friendly and easy going, which sounds like a small thing until you've booked someone who isn't. Ned mixes guitar, keys, stompbox and vocals, so a solo set still has rhythm underneath it rather than one instrument carrying everything. The covers lean Australian, plenty of Paul Kelly and Bernard Fanning sitting beside the older international standards. And if you've got a song you want to hear, ask. He'll play it if he knows it.

On the day

One powerpoint is the whole requirement on the power side. The playing area wants flat level flooring and some cover overhead, particularly if you're outside, so the gear isn't exposed. Nothing else needs arranging on your end.

Performance options

Solo is Ned on his own, moving between guitar, keys, stomp and vocals. There are two duos as well. One is Ned with Todd on percussion and vocals, which puts a real beat behind the songs. The other is Ned with Jimmi on guitar and vocals, which gives you two voices and two guitars.
