About
Michael Arvanitakis is a musical soloist for hire in Warburton, VIC.
Michael Arvanitakis plays more instruments than most acts need. Voice, guitar and piano first, then jazz double bass studied at the VCA, cello in both classical and contemporary styles, and sitar learned with masters in Varanasi, India. He has recorded and played with Gotye, with The Teskey Brothers and with Dallas Frasca, among other projects. A booking can go several ways: covers and originals with guitar or piano, with or without live looping, solo cello, solo sitar, or jazz piano. He'll also perform as a duo or trio with other musicians. Sets run up to an hour each, as many as the event needs. Own sound gear, one hour to set up.
The show
How many sets you get is up to you, each running up to an hour. What's in them is the interesting part, because Michael can take the booking in several directions. Vocal covers and originals with guitar or piano, with or without multi instrumental looping. Solo cello, classical or contemporary, with looping available there too. Solo sitar. Or a straight jazz piano set. Say which one suits your event and that's what turns up. Mixing them across a night is possible as well, which is worth considering if the mood needs to shift as the evening goes.
On the day
He brings his own sound equipment, so there's no PA to organise. He needs one hour before performance time to get it up and running.
Performance options
Solo is the standard booking and covers the full range of instruments. Where you want more than one player, he'll perform as a duo or a trio with other musicians, put together to suit the event.
