The show
John Curran has been playing pub circuits since the 1970s, solo and in bands, and he goes through your event with you beforehand so the set actually reflects the room and the crowd you're expecting. Nothing sits between him and the audience while he plays. No lyric sheets, no iPad on a stand. That's a deliberate choice and it changes how a set feels. It also means a specific song request takes time: give him around two months' notice and he'll learn it properly. If it's not one he can get to, he'll happily play it as the DJ instead.
On the day
Roughly two metres by two of floor space, which fits into most corners without rearranging your furniture. One or two power points nearby. And if he's playing outside, the spot needs to be covered.
