About
DJ Shake is a musical soloist for hire in Cornubia, QLD.
One person, vocals and a drum kit, with backing tracks filling in what a full band would normally cover. The result is louder than you'd expect from a solo act. The setlist leans hard into rock: Pearl Jam, Tool, Karnivool, A Perfect Circle, Birds of Tokyo, Hunters and Collectors, Crowded House, Grinspoon, Eskimo Joe, Green Day, Blink-182, Live, Tonic, Sevendust, Phoenix, plus Robbie Williams for the singalong crowd. Gear is Yamaha, EV and Shure. Needs a 2m by 2m stage, one 240v point, parking close enough to load in, and cover if you're putting it outdoors. Built for Friday and Saturday nights.
Watch
The show
Vocals and a drum kit at the same time, with professional backing tracks underneath filling in the guitars and bass. It shouldn't work as well as it does, but the result is a lot bigger than one person behind a kit. The energy is high, the sound is built for singing along, and the gear is good enough to carry it: Yamaha, EV and Shure through the setup. Aimed squarely at Friday and Saturday nights where you want a dance floor rather than background music.
On the day
Two metres by two metres of stage space at minimum, since a kit plus a vocal setup needs a bit of room. One standard 240 volt power point does the electrical side. Parking close by matters more than it sounds, because a drum kit is a lot of trips from the car. And if you're putting it outside, cover or shade is needed to keep the weather off.
Performance options
Bookings are scaled by the size of the room. There's a version suited to house parties and smaller events up to around 150 guests, a larger one built for formal events up to about 350, and a fuller setup for weddings and New Year's Eve. Say what you're planning and which of the three fits gets sorted from there.
