The TJ Show is a musical duo for hire in Echuca, VIC.

One member in Echuca, the other in Melbourne, and about fifteen years of playing together behind them. The T.J Show works as a duo or a band, and because the drums are electronic and the vocals sit on top, it fills a room like something bigger. They've headlined the 2016 Australian Grand Prix, played Pop & Pour Festival three years running, Oktoberfest Warrnambool and the Yarra Valley and Swan Hill races, and they're regulars at Rich River Golf Club, the American Hotel and the Shamrock. New Year's Eve sets pull crowds past 2,000. For weddings they'll do quiet acoustic music through dinner, then roughly four 45 minute live sets, and they cover the DJ music between sets so the night never goes silent. They bring PA and lighting, and need a dedicated power supply plus shelter if you're outdoors.

The show

Dinner and mingling time gets soft acoustic playing. Later on it turns into a party, and fifteen years of playing together means the repertoire is deep enough to keep going. Electronic drums sit under lead vocals, which is why two people fill a room like a bigger group. Between the live sets they handle the DJ music themselves, chosen to match your reception, so there's no gap and no separate booking. Live playing generally works out at around four 45 minute sets, arranged around whatever your run sheet says. Professional PA and a full lighting rig come as part of it, laser and moving lights included, with smoke machines if the venue allows them.

On the day

One 240 volt, 10 amp supply at the performance area, running uninterrupted and not shared with anything else. Hot water urns on the same circuit are the classic problem. If a generator is doing the work, it needs to be pure sine. Outdoors, proper shelter has to be in place. Tree cover isn't enough, because it stops neither rain nor birds.

Performance options

Three shapes. The acoustic duo keeps things cruisier while still carrying percussion and electronic drums. The party duo turns on the full light show and the big band sound. And the wedding option usually runs both across the day, starting soft and ending loud.
