About
The Mixed Tape is a musical duo for hire in Central Coast, NSW.
Harmonies and a bit of banter, from a group of Central Coast musicians who can turn up as a duo, a trio or a full band depending on the size of your night. The Mixed Tape sit comfortably at either end of the evening, playing quietly while people eat and then pushing the room onto the dance floor later. The song list runs long: Cold Chisel, Crowded House, Bill Withers, Ed Sheeran, Jack Johnson, Marvin Gaye, Fleetwood Mac territory and plenty more. They'll learn a particular song if it matters to you, which is worth knowing if you've got a first dance in mind. PA and lighting come with them. Performers hold current public liability certificates.
Watch
The show
Someone actually listens before the night is planned. That's the short version. Tell them what the day looks like and the music gets shaped around it rather than dropped in from a standard run sheet. The bit worth flagging is the song learning: pick a track that means something to you, get it to them early enough, and they'll have it ready for the moment you want it. First dances are the obvious use, though it applies just as well to a parent's song or an entrance.
On the day
Sound and lights arrive with the band, so you're not chasing a hire company. All they ask for is ordinary mains power at the spot where they'll play. Point them at the area, and they're away.
Performance options
For weddings there are two ways to book: the reception on its own, or the ceremony and the reception together. When you enquire, include the venue name, the date and which of those two you're after. That's all they need to come back to you with a quote.
