Sweet FA is a musical duo for hire in Melbourne, VIC.
Two voices, two guitars, and years of playing together. Frank and Alex have built up a repertoire stretching from the 50s to now, with two-part harmony over electric and acoustic. Because it's just the pair of them, they fit into rooms a band would swamp, which is why private homes book them so often. They take the playing seriously and the night lightly, which is about the right way around. Tribute sets are available on request: Dr Hook, Neil Diamond, Johnny Cash and others. PA and lights come with them, scaled large or small to the venue, and they set up quickly.
The show
Frank and Alex are good company on a stage, and that carries into the room more than any song choice does. They play well, they talk to the crowd, and they pull people into the night rather than performing at them from behind a microphone stand. Good songs, two blokes clearly enjoying themselves, and an audience that ends up part of it. That is the whole proposition, and for a lounge room or a small function it is usually the right one.
On the day
PA and lighting are theirs, and both scale. A big system for a hall, a small one for a lounge room, and they'll match it to the space instead of over-powering it. Setup is quick, so you're not watching two blokes wrestle with cables while your guests stand about.
