About

Soph & Tom is a musical duo for hire in Sydney, NSW.

Sophie Russell and Tom Holloway play across Greater Western Sydney as an acoustic duo, and their strength is range. Ed Sheeran, Harry Styles, Bruno Mars, Billie Eilish, Beyonce, Lady Gaga, Maroon 5, plus jazz and blues where the room calls for it. Requests are welcome, and they'll shape a list around a brief rather than run the same night twice. Weddings are a big part of what they do, from a ceremony through canapes to the reception and a first dance. Set up is simple. Give them a spot to stand and a power point, and they handle everything else.

The show

Sophie Russell and Tom Holloway play as an acoustic duo, and the range is the selling point: Ed Sheeran, Harry Styles, Billie Eilish, Beyonce, Bruno Mars, Lady Gaga, with jazz and blues held in reserve for rooms that want something quieter. They'll talk through what you're after and build the list around it, so no two nights come out identical. The atmosphere they aim for is relaxed rather than showy, and a fair bit of their attention goes into making sure your event just runs smoothly around them.

On the day

Clear them a performance area and make sure there's a wall socket within reach. That's it. Two people with acoustic gear don't take much room, but the spot does need to be defined before guests arrive, otherwise you end up moving tables at the last minute. Somewhere with a bit of visibility to the floor works best for the reception part of a night.

Performance options

Weddings break into three parts and you can book any of them. The ceremony covers the walk down the aisle, the signing of the register and the exit. Canapes run one or two sets of around 45 to 50 minutes with short breaks. The reception is two or three sets over dinner plus the first dance, with party sets available afterwards from a dance playlist. Combine them as you like: ceremony and canapes, ceremony through to reception, or the full day from the aisle to the last song.
