Slam Tango is a musical duo for hire in Gosford, NSW.
Steve and Corinne are Slam Tango, a duo working Sydney, the Central Coast and Newcastle with more than a decade behind them. Acoustic and electric both, moving through rock, Motown and reggae. Fleetwood Mac, Bon Jovi, The Eagles, Cold Chisel, Bob Marley, Joan Jett. Plenty of crowd interaction, and they keep the taste level up rather than hammering the room. Between sets they run dance music, or you hand them your own playlist and they play that instead. Their gear is also available for speeches and announcements, which quietly solves a problem most weddings discover too late. All sound and lighting supplied. They need roughly four metres by one, covered if you are outdoors, and a power point. Fully insured for public liability.
The show
Steve and Corinne play upbeat live hits and they talk to the room while they're doing it, which is a different skill from playing well and matters just as much across a long night. Hundreds of events behind them, big rooms and small. Between sets there's dance music running, or you hand over your own favourites on a drive or an mp3 player and they'll play yours instead. Their gear is available for speeches and announcements too.
On the day
All the sound and lighting is theirs, so there's nothing on the equipment list for you. What they need is a performance area of roughly four metres by one, plus a power point at that spot or an extension lead reaching it. Outdoors, that area has to be covered or shaded and properly weather-proofed. Two people and their gear don't take much room, which makes them easy to place in a tight venue.
