About
Simbolikly Rogue is a musical duo for hire in Kyabram, VIC.
Tristan Hardy and Simon Ward were both playing solo before they put the two guitars together, and the duo sounds a good deal fuller than either did alone. Rock classics, old and recent, done acoustically: Flame Trees, Run To Paradise, April Sun In Cuba, Better Be Home Soon, Livin' On A Prayer, Sweet Home Alabama, Riptide, Teenage Dirtbag. They start with something that gets toes going and build from there. PA, lights and background music between sets all come with them, and they don't need much floor space, just room for two and a power point. Based at Kyabram in northern Victoria.
Watch
The show
Two guitars and two voices, working through rock classics with the volume dialled back and the harmonies pushed forward. Tristan and Simon open with something that gets feet moving before people have decided whether they're in the mood, then build from there. Old songs and newer ones sit side by side in the set. It's an easy sound to have in the background early and an easy one to dance to later.
On the day
Not much. Room for two people to stand and play, and one power point within reach of it. The PA, the lights and the music that fills the breaks between sets all arrive with the duo, so the venue doesn't need a sound system of its own.
