About
Platinum Play is a musical duo for hire in Melbourne, VIC.
Nick Roy and Matt Bray have racked up more than 4,000 gigs between them, and it shows in how fast they read a room. Platinum Play Duo move between straight live performance and covers that actually sound like the record, across most genres you'd ask for. A live saxophone joins them often. The songlist runs wide: Seven Nation Army, Billie Jean, Back In Black, Ain't Nobody, Could You Be Loved, Enter Sandman, Feel It Still, Faith. Setup depends entirely on the event and the brief, so tell them what you're planning. Melbourne based, working weddings, corporate functions and parties.

The show
Nick Roy and Matt Bray sit at the centre of Platinum Play, and between them they've played over 4,000 gigs. That number does something to a duo. They pick music for the crowd in front of them rather than the one they hoped for, and it shows within the first bracket. Stylish and versatile is the honest description. A live saxophone often joins them, which fattens out a two piece considerably.
On the day
What they need changes with the event, the room and what you've asked them to do, so it gets sorted in the conversation rather than off a fixed list. Tell them where you're holding it and how you want the night to run, and they'll tell you what has to be in place.
