About
Paula and Owen is a musical duo for hire in Sandover, NT.
No backing tracks. Everything you hear from Paula and Owen is being played in the room, which is why they can add a drummer and become a trio when a party needs the extra push. Paula Hunter is a classically trained singer, once signed with a Sydney label, and Owen Ward plays acoustic guitar with a long production background supplying crew for artists at the scale of U2, Madonna, Michael Jackson and The Rolling Stones. Between them, over twenty years in music. The set is a modern one given an acoustic reading, hits from the 90s to now, and they only pick songs that genuinely work stripped back. Riptide, Valerie, Wicked Game, Everlong, Perfect, Black Velvet, Dreams. Good for wine bars, vineyards, markets, hotels and weddings. They bring their own PA.

The show
Nothing is coming off a laptop. Every note you hear from Paula and Owen is being played live in the room, which is the reason they can add a drummer and turn into a trio when a party needs more push. The set is modern, hits from the nineties to now given an acoustic reading, and they're picky about it. A song only goes in if it genuinely works stripped back. Riptide, Valerie, Wicked Game, Perfect, Dreams. Paula is a classically trained singer and Owen has spent years around live production, so what you get is two people who know exactly what they're doing.
On the day
The PA comes with them. From you they need a 240V outlet, an area of roughly 3.5 metres by 2, and if it's outdoors, somewhere weatherproof in case the day turns. Venue access at least an hour before the event starts, so the gear is up and checked well before anyone arrives. Add a bit more room to the footprint if you've booked the trio, since the drummer needs his own space.
Performance options
Duo or trio, and it's worth deciding roughly which way you're leaning before you enquire. Send through the date, the location, the times you need covered and whether you want the drummer, and the answer that comes back will actually match your event instead of being a guess.
