About
Order of Genesis 🌻 is a musical duo for hire in Nowra, NSW.
Two women, guitar and piano, both singing. Order of Genesis play acoustic covers with the harmonies out front, moving through jazz, pop and folk, and taking in Bob Dylan, the Beatles, Fleetwood Mac, Coldplay, Katy Perry, Missy Higgins, Wendy Matthews and Brooke Fraser. Chilled background music is their strongest suit and they know it. But they can lift it, playing to backing tracks for a more upbeat set if the night calls for dancing, and they'll put together playlists to fill the breaks between live sets. Based in Nowra and available for events of any size, from an intimate house gathering to a full function. Setup takes 30 to 60 minutes depending on how much of the gear comes in.
The show
Tell them what the event is meant to feel like and they'll build the set to match. Laid back acoustic is where these two are strongest, guitar and piano with both voices in the mix, and it works as background without ever going bland. When the night wants lifting, they'll shift up into something you can dance to. Playlists between the live sets keep the room from going flat while they take a break.
On the day
Allow 30 to 60 minutes to set up and about the same to pack down, with the exact time depending on how much room you've got. They carry several instruments and can bring in as many or as few as the space allows, so tell them what they're working with when you enquire and the gear list gets adjusted to fit.
