About
Grimlie is a musical duo for hire in Perth, WA.
Paul Leslie sings lead, Mark Grima plays guitar and sings, and between them they cover a lot of ground for two people. The pair played together in Perth acoustic trio FLUID before forming GRIMLIE. Their picks lean towards songs you rarely hear done acoustically, including Time After Time, Zombie, Shake It Off and Simply The Best, alongside Wonderwall, Horses and Throw Your Arms Around Me. They also run three tribute sets if you want a themed evening: Robbie Williams, Crowded House and Matchbox 20. Volume follows the room, from a quiet Sunday afternoon to something with more push. PA, speakers and lighting all come with them, and they cover Perth metro plus regional WA. Insured for indoor and outdoor events.
Watch
The show
Paul Leslie and Mark Grima have played together since their days in the Perth trio FLUID, so this is two people who know each other's timing rather than a pairing assembled last week. The picks are the interesting part. Shake It Off, Time After Time, Simply The Best and Zombie all get an acoustic reading, which is not where you'd normally hear them. They talk to the crowd and enjoy it. They've worked all over Perth, taken shows out to regional WA, and they run an annual Bali tour on top of that.
On the day
Nothing needed from you on the gear front. GRIMLIE arrive self sufficient with PA, speakers and their own lighting, which they'll set to match the room and the hour rather than blasting it flat. That covers indoor rooms and outdoor spaces alike.
Performance options
The straightforward option is the duo playing right through the evening. The other is a themed night built on three acoustic tribute sets. The Robbie Williams set runs Angels, Feel, Come Undone, Better Man, Let Me Entertain You, Millennium, Monsoon, Love My Life, Sin Sin Sin and Supreme. Crowded House brings Don't Dream It's Over, Fall At Your Feet, Weather With You, Better Be Home Soon, Distant Sun, Locked Out, Mean To Me, Something So Strong and Now We're Getting Somewhere. And the Matchbox 20 set covers 3AM, Bent, Bright Lights, Push, If You're Gone, Mad Season, Disease, Downfall and Long Day.
