ebonyplusdylan is a musical duo for hire in Melbourne, VIC.

Ebony plays viola and sings; Dylan plays guitar and produces. That combination gives ebonyplusdylan three ways to run an event. There's the acoustic duo, guitar and vocals, for a wedding ceremony or a corporate room. There's a straight DJ set for a birthday or a reception. And there's the one people rarely think to ask for, a DJ set with live vocals over the top. Ebony's background is orchestral and folk. Dylan has spent years as a working guitarist and music producer, and taught production at the Adelaide Audio Institute for several years. They arrive half an hour or more before start time to set up and say hello. Acoustic sets run 45 minutes with a short break between them; the DJ side runs straight through. Bring power, they bring the rest. The duo is insured and based in Melbourne.

The show

Once the details are locked in, the pair arrive somewhere between 30 and 45 minutes before they're due to start, say hello and get their gear in place. The acoustic duo side runs in sets: 45 minutes of playing, then a 15 minute breather, and repeat. When they're DJing there are no breaks at all, so the music runs straight through. At the end they pack down without hanging around and leave you to the rest of your night.

On the day

Power where you want them set up is the one thing they'll ask of you. Speakers, microphones and the DJ gear all travel with them. If you're after lighting or anything unusual for the room, say so in your enquiry so they can plan for it.

Performance options

Three standard packages, plus custom ones built around whatever your event calls for. The wedding package covers acoustic music for the ceremony and DJing through the reception. The corporate package is the acoustic duo, a DJ set, or a mix of the two across the function. And the private party package is DJing, usually for birthdays.
