About
Broad Spectrum Placebo is a musical duo for hire in Ballarat, VIC.
One booking, three different acts. Broad Spectrum Placebo are a multi-instrumental vocal duo from Ballarat who can arrive as a full pop production playing originals with projected lyric videos, as a relaxed acoustic covers session, or as an electronic instrumental set. The originals blend spacey ambient rhythms and dreamy ballads with catchy riffs, while the covers reach from the 60s and 70s through to current pop. And they bring everything they need, so the venue doesn't have to supply a thing.

The show
You're really choosing between three acts here. The full pop production comes with original songs and lyric videos projected behind the duo, which turns a stage into something closer to a screening. The acoustic covers session is the quieter one, good where people are eating and talking. And the electronic instrumental set is different again, no vocals, just the pair playing. Tell them which way your night leans and the set gets built to match. Ballarat based, and they play multiple instruments between the two of them, so a small line-up covers more ground than you'd think.
On the day
Nothing, if you would rather not deal with it. The duo can arrive with the full kit and run the whole thing themselves, sound included. Which format you have booked changes what comes along, since the pop production version with the projected lyric videos needs more gear than a relaxed acoustic set does. Mention the space and what it already has when you enquire, and they will bring what suits it.
