About
Mystica the Mermaid is a mermaid costume character for hire in Melbourne, VIC.
The entrance is the best bit. A sailor assistant comes through first with the shell throne and the treasure chest, then wheels Mystica in on a wagon while she dances with fan veils and a bubble machine trails behind her. Once she's on the throne she greets the guest of honour with photos and mermaid face jewels. For children's parties she runs sing-alongs, follow-along dances, storytime, games, wish bracelets and swimming tricks if there's water. For adult events she works as a greeter, dances, poses for photos or does ambient and interactive swimming. She brings a water resistant speaker and a headset mic. Melbourne based. A clear wagon path from the car to the performance area helps. A Working with Children Check is held.
Watch
On the day
The arrival is staged properly. A sailor assistant comes in first and places the shell throne and treasure chest, then wheels Mystica the Mermaid in on a wagon while she dances with fan veils and the bubble machine trails behind her. Entrance music plays from a small water resistant speaker. Once she's on the throne she introduces herself through a headset mic and greets the guest of honour with photos and face jewels. One thing to sort in advance: a path from the car that a wagon can actually roll along.
Performance options
For a children's party, Mystica the Mermaid can run sing alongs and follow along dances, read a story, lead games and activities, hand out wish bracelets, apply face jewels, dance with her fan veils, fill the air with bubbles and pose for photos. If there's water, swimming tricks go in as well. Adult events take a different shape. She'll work as a mermaid greeter, do ambient or interactive swimming, perform the fan veil dance, take photos with guests or appear as a promotional model. Got something unusual in mind that isn't on either list? Ask, because custom arrangements are part of what she does.
