About
Matt Overd is a mentalist for hire in Gawler East, SA.
Mentalism, done as though it's a conversation rather than a demonstration. Matt Overd builds his performances around psychology, intuition and a bit of theatre, and the effect he's after is personal: mind reading, impossible predictions and playful feats of intuition that leave people wondering exactly where coincidence stopped. It's interactive, so the audience isn't watching so much as taking part. The style flexes hard with the room. A living room with a dozen people, a kids' party, a hens or bucks night with a cheekier edge, or a polished corporate stage all get a different version of him. Based at Gawler East and available across South Australia.
The show
The audience does not sit and watch this one. Matt reads minds, calls predictions that should not be possible and runs small feats of intuition, and every one of them needs somebody from the room holding something or thinking of something. He shapes the style to where he is. A dozen people in a lounge room gets an intimate version, a kids' party gets a lighter one, a hens or bucks night gets the cheeky edge, and a corporate stage gets the polished run. Amazement is the point, but humour carries it, and people leave with something to argue about in the car.
