Ailsa sits down with you first to understand what the event is actually for, then the two of you go through the run sheet together, sort out the speaking notes, agree on the tone you want and work through the technical side. So by the time she's holding a microphone, she already knows where the night is meant to go and what has to happen before it gets there. That's the difference between an MC who reads a running order and one who keeps the thing on its feet.
On the day
A microphone and speakers, and that's the list. If your venue or your production crew is already supplying sound, she'll work with whatever's there. If not, she can bring her own gear instead. Just flag which way you're going when you enquire so it's settled early.
