About
Gold Coast Drumline is a marching band for hire in Gold Coast, QLD.
Between six and fifteen drummers, no microphones, no power, no electrics of any kind. Gold Coast Drumline play precision interlaced patterns that work as much visually as they do musically, and they can do it marching, standing on a stage, or moving through a crowd. Sometimes all three in one booking. Short bursts of fifteen to twenty minutes hit hardest, so it suits an entrance, a break in proceedings or a festival roving slot. There's a five minute pop-rock medley that does need a sound system. Players are all ages. Being a voluntary non-profit, they need decent notice to work out who's available. Public liability insurance is in place.
The show
Six to fifteen drummers, locked together, playing patterns that interlock so tightly it's as much a thing to watch as to hear. They can march it in, hold a stage, or move through your crowd, and plenty of bookings use all three. Fifteen or twenty minutes is where it lands hardest, so think about it as the moment that opens your event or breaks up the middle of it. There's also a five minute pop-rock medley in the book, and that one does want a sound system.
On the day
Nothing electrical. No power lead, no PA, no cables to trip over, which is why they'll happily play a car park, a parade route or the middle of a field. The one exception is the pop-rock medley, which does run through a sound system. Since they're a voluntary group, give them decent notice so they can sort out who's free on the day.
