About

Magic Mike - Not A Stripper is a magician for hire in Sydney, NSW.

Two kinds of magic in the same booking, which is the point. Mike roams the room doing close-up work in people's own hands, then picks up a microphone and runs an all-in show that pulls the whole crowd into one trick at the same time. The card work is the backbone. The psychological material is where it gets strange, including guessing phone passcodes, which tends to unsettle people more than any card ever does. Expect someone to ask you where you found him, and expect a crowd to form and then follow him around the room. Set-up is close to nothing. For an extended stage piece he brings cameras and a big screen, otherwise it's a jacket full of cards and he's working. Sydney based, across weddings, corporate nights and festivals.

The show

Two things happen. First, close up magic in your guests' own hands as he moves through the room, which is the kind that gets people grabbing each other's arms. Then a microphone comes out and the whole crowd is pulled into one trick together. Card work is the backbone of it. The psychological material is where it turns strange, guessing phone passcodes among other things, and that unsettles people far more than cards ever do. Expect a crowd to form. Expect it to follow him around the room. And expect at least one person to corner you and ask where you found this guy.

On the day

Barely anything. The style is deliberately stripped back, so most of the time he turns up with a jacket full of cards and starts working the room. No stage needed, no soundcheck, nothing for your venue to set aside. The one exception is an extended stage piece. That version brings cameras and a big screen so a large room can actually see close up magic, and it needs the screen and a spot to put it worked out with your venue beforehand.

Performance options

Roaming only is the simplest booking. He moves through your guests doing close up work, which suits a cocktail hour, a canape stretch, or the gap while a room is being turned around. A stage performance is the other end, the whole crowd watching one thing at once with the microphone in hand. Plenty of events take both, roving early and a set show later, and that's usually the strongest version. There's a virtual option too if the audience isn't in one room.
