About
Veronique Bourbeau/ Run4Humanity is a keynote speaker for hire in Brisbane, QLD.
Veronique Bourbeau speaks about fear, and how letting go of it changes what a person will attempt. Her talk, 'Fearless', traces her own path from a quiet, isolated childhood to ultra running across the African continent, a sport she came to well into adult life. Before that she spent more than fifteen years as a journalist and completed an MBA. In 2022 she published her first book, Fearless: One Woman's Transformative Journey from Treadmill to Running the African Continent. She works with leaders, teams and general audiences, and the message reaches past sport into anything a person has been putting off. All proceeds from her speaking go to Run4Humanity. She can also pair a keynote with a corporate workshop on values, change or results based management.
The show
Veronique's story starts a long way from ultra running. Writing came first, then more than fifteen years working as a journalist and an MBA alongside it, before she left to travel. Running arrived in the second half of her life, and she turned out to be extraordinary at it, winning races from 100 miles up to 444 kilometres and completing a 3,010 kilometre self-supported run across Japan in 72 days. In 2022 she published Fearless, the book about that transformation. Her talk sits on a simple belief: that a meaningful life comes from chasing goals bigger than yourself. She also founded Run4Humanity, which brings clean water to remote places, one kilometre at a time.
On the day
The organiser supplies the technical side: a microphone, the computer equipment and the presentation setup ready to go. That's the practical list. Travel and accommodation for the talk are worth sorting in conversation well before the date rather than in the week of the event, particularly if she's coming from interstate.
Performance options
For corporate audiences the keynote can be paired with a workshop rather than standing on its own. Those workshops cover values, change, or results based management, and they scale to the time you've got, from a half day through to a two or three day program. The keynote lands the story and the workshop turns it into something the team keeps working on afterwards. Worth discussing separately when you enquire, since the combination gets built around what your people need.
