About
Kelly Ferguson is a jazz singer for hire in Mordialloc, VIC.
Jazz trained, and it shows in the phrasing even when she's singing Nutbush. Kelly Ferguson works Melbourne and beyond as a solo, duo or band, and the repertoire splits four ways: jazz classics like Fly Me to the Moon and Lullaby of Birdland, soul standards including Ain't No Sunshine and Dock of the Bay, party material from Celebration to Cake By The Ocean, and wedding songs such as Can't Help Falling In Love and Say You Won't Let Go. Every booking starts with a chat so the shape of the night matches the room. She has a battery powered PA for outdoor or awkward spaces, and asks for thirty minutes before guests arrive to sound check. Public liability insurance and a current Working With Children Check.
Watch
The show
Kelly Ferguson Music starts with a conversation, before anything gets locked in. What the night's actually for, who's in the room, where the music needs to lift and where it should sit back. The package gets built from that rather than pulled off a shelf, which is why the jazz set at one booking looks nothing like the party set at the next.
On the day
Power, and a space she can set up in and play from for the whole event. She asks to get into that space at least half an hour before your guests arrive, so the sound gets tested properly rather than in a rush. There's a small battery powered PA for outdoor spots or awkward rooms with no power nearby. Outdoor bookings do need to be protected from the weather.
Performance options
Book Kelly Ferguson Music as a solo, or as a duo or full band where every extra player is quoted individually. Length is the other choice: up to two sets, or three across a longer night. Requests are catered for as well, with up to three songs learned specifically for your event, and that option sits with the three set bookings. Travel is worth flagging early, since bookings inside about 50km of Melbourne are handled differently from ones further out. Say which line-up and how many sets you're after in your enquiry and the rest falls into place quickly.
