About
The Moonlighters - Jazz Combo is a jazz band for hire in Perth, WA.
A bouncing four beat upright bass sits under everything The Moonlighters do, which is what gives them that old jazz bar feeling rather than a wedding band doing swing. The Perth group scales from four pieces up to seven, instrumental or with vocals, and the size is chosen around your guest numbers: a quieter four piece for a small room or background playing, more energy at five and six, a full seven piece with vocals for a festival or a proper show. Jazz, swing and dixie standards throughout. They bring a small PA for vocals, and need power and shelter.
On the day
Two things the venue supplies: power, and cover if the performance is outdoors. The rest depends on which line-up you book, because the footprint shrinks and grows with the ensemble size and they can run fairly tight when space is short. For an event of roughly 50 to 100 guests where vocals are involved, the group brings a small PA of their own.
Performance options
Four sizes, chosen around your guest numbers. A four piece instrumental group for up to 50 people or wherever the music sits behind conversation, deliberately quiet and unobtrusive. A five piece instrumental for 30 to 100, with more push and atmosphere. A six piece with vocals for 30 to 120, the most versatile of the four and the most fun. And a seven piece with vocals for crowds past 120, a festival or a proper show, which needs full sound production behind it.
