About
The Lady is a human statue for hire in Melbourne, VIC.
The Lady is a copper-coloured living-statue character inspired by eighteenth-century style and Marie Antoinette. She begins as a still figure, then gradually introduces movement, creating a moment of uncertainty for people watching.
Based in Melbourne, the character appears at festivals, weddings and other public occasions, including greeting guests or moving through an event. Her theatrical presentation draws on the manners and appearance of an aristocratic figure. The performance centres on the change from apparent sculpture to a character who responds to the gathering around her.
