About
Melanie Trapman is a harp player for hire in Dubbo, NSW.
Harp and voice, from the one performer. Melanie Trapman works across weddings, funerals, national anthems and the sort of event that needs music without a PA stack. She sings a mix pulled from the 50s through the 90s, with a soft spot for Nina Simone, Connie Francis and Tina Turner, and she'll sing in other languages too. Anthems are a genuine speciality: Advance Australia Fair, Lupang Hinirang, God Defend New Zealand, God Save The King. On harp it runs from classical and wedding standards to modern pieces. If there's a song that matters to you and it isn't in the repertoire yet, she'll learn it before the day. She needs about two metres square to set up. That's it.
Watch
The show
Melanie shows up when she said she would and plays well, which covers most of what you're worrying about. And if there's a particular piece your event needs, whether that's a first dance, a hymn or something in another language, she'll learn it beforehand rather than telling you it isn't in the repertoire. Just ask when you enquire and give her enough notice to work on it.
On the day
Two metres square is all the floor she needs, harp included. That's a corner of a garden, the end of a chapel or a spot beside the top table. No stage, no PA, nothing to plug in.
