About
Janice Preece is a harp player for hire in Brisbane, QLD.
Janice Preece performs on a full sized concert harp, which is a considerable thing to have in a room before a note is played. Her repertoire spans classical, light jazz, Celtic and popular music, from Pachelbel's Canon in D and Bach's Air On A G String through to the Bridal Chorus and Ave Maria. She's one of Queensland's most experienced harpists and covers Brisbane, Ipswich, the Gold Coast and the Sunshine Coast. For bigger functions she can put together ensembles: flute and harp, cello and harp, violin and harp, or a trio adding cello. She needs a performance area of about two metres by one, and shade if she's playing outdoors. Public liability insurance is held.
The show
Janice Preece plays a full sized concert harp, and the instrument itself changes a room before she's played a note. The repertoire covers classical, light jazz, Celtic and popular music, so background music can be pitched to whatever mood the part of the day needs. Pachelbel's Canon in D, Bach's Air On A G String, the Bridal Chorus and Ave Maria are all there. She's among the most experienced harpists working in Queensland.
On the day
Janice needs a performance area of roughly two metres by one, and that spot has to take the weight and footprint of a concert harp comfortably. If she is playing outside, shade over the instrument has to be provided.
Performance options
Beyond solo harp, Janice puts ensembles together for larger functions. Flute and harp, violin and harp, or cello and harp as duos. If you want more, there's a flute, harp and cello trio, or a violin, harp and cello trio. Say what size room you're filling and she'll tell you which one fits.
