Every name below is a visitor. Nobody on this list lives in Victor Harbor, and the top of the page is really a picture of where Adelaide stops: Seaford Meadows, Hackham, Noarlunga, Reynella, then Happy Valley and Flagstaff Hill. That's a drive of roughly an hour over the hills for every one of them, in both directions, usually late at night.
It gives the town a slightly odd supply. Acoustic duos, singer-songwriters and guitarists lead it, and then, unusually, three separate trivia and game show hosts turn up in the ten, which is a pub and club trade more than a wedding one. Victor Harbor's own calendar is the thing to watch. Summer, school holidays and the whale season pull Adelaide down here in numbers, and the acts who play the Fleurieu know exactly which weekends are busy.
Top picks are the nearby performers with the most visible reviews, then rating, then the closest; further afield the closest come first, and premium listings break remaining ties. Distances are straight-line from Victor Harbor. Ask each act whether they travel to your venue and what that costs.
Not on this list. Everyone shown is coming down from the southern suburbs of Adelaide, which is about an hour each way over the hills. It's a normal run for them, but it does mean travel is always part of the conversation.
Earlier than you think, especially for a summer Saturday. The Fleurieu wedding season and the holiday crowd land on the same weekends, and one act can only take one of them. Get the enquiry in as soon as the venue is locked.
Something that copes with wind and an open room. A duo or a solo singer with a compact rig handles a waterfront space better than a big band crammed into a corner. Tell the act which of the three you have: an indoor room, a marquee, or nothing but weather.
Holiday periods and long weekends fill the Fleurieu with people, and the acts who come down are being asked about the same Saturdays. Book those dates months out, not weeks.
The drive back over the hills after a midnight finish is what most acts are really pricing. A bed for the night is often cheaper for you than the late travel loading.
Goolwa has its own page and shares this pool of acts, since anyone driving from Adelaide passes through. Look at both if your venue sits between the two.
