About
Wushu coiled is a fire performer for hire in Airlie Beach, QLD.
Fire performance with a martial arts spine, throwing fireballs out toward the crowd. Wushu coiled works with oxbow, rope dart, dragon staff and poi, and the main show runs 15 minutes with choreography and music supplied. As a side show it's different: three or four five minute burns an hour, sitting alongside a live music act if you have one booked. Workshops run an hour and cover poi, rope dart, dragon staff and oxbow flow arts, with props provided. LED roving is available where fire isn't practical, and extra performers can be added. Expect a conversation about the venue first, or at least photos, so the safety requirements and prop choices are settled before the night. Insured, with a blue card for working with children.
The show
The main show runs fifteen minutes across multiple props, choreographed, with the music supplied. What actually gets used depends on your venue, since some props need more room and clearance than others. There's a side show version too: three or four burns of five minutes each per hour, designed to sit alongside a live music act if you've got one booked, so the fire punctuates the night instead of taking it over. Workshops are the third option, an hour of group lessons in poi, rope dart, dragon staff and oxbow flow arts. Props can be provided for those.
On the day
Before anything is confirmed, the venue needs looking at. A visit works, and so do photos. That's how the safety precautions get worked out and how obstacles get spotted, because a low ceiling or an awkward corner rules out certain props. Sorting it early means the show is built around your space rather than trimmed on the night.
Performance options
Three shapes. The main act is the full choreographed show. The side show is shorter bursts across an evening, sitting alongside other entertainment. And workshops teach your guests to handle the props themselves. Which one suits comes down to the venue, the safety precautions your space needs, and how many performers are involved.
