About
No Mind Flow Arts is a fire performer for hire in Mount Martha, VIC.
Twenty five years of martial arts and 13 years of Ashtanga yoga sit underneath this act, and you can see both in how Ryan moves. He works with dragon staff, double staffs, double swords and palm candles, with fire breathing available on top, and the whole show can run as LED instead of fire if the venue can't take flame. Three sets of about five minutes, using a different prop each time. Some of it is choreographed to the last beat, some of it comes out of the moment. He performs to his own music or yours. Outdoors he'll need four metres square with nothing overhead. Based on the Mornington Peninsula.
Watch
The show
Ryan works through three short bursts of roughly five minutes each, changing prop between them, so you get dragon staff, then double staffs, then double swords or palm candles rather than one long blur of the same thing. Some of it is set to the beat and some of it is read off the moment. Fire breathing sits on top if you want it. And if the venue won't allow flame, the whole thing runs on LED instead, which looks different but loses none of the movement. He'll play his own music or run yours, whichever suits the night better.
On the day
Fire needs open sky. Four metres by four metres of clear ground, outdoors, with nothing hanging above it, no awning, no branches, no marquee roof. That's the floor of what works. The LED version is much easier on a venue and goes indoors or out, so a tight room or a function centre with a low ceiling isn't a dead end. Tell us what the space looks like when you enquire and Ryan will say which version fits.
Performance options
Pick the show first, then the extras. There's a fire set of three performances, an LED set of the same shape for rooms that can't take flame, and a daytime version with the props alone and no fire or LED at all. Each one comes with the music and the choreographed routines already worked in, and a fire safety person is on duty for the flame shows. Fire breathing and special effects powders can be added. Extra performances, roving work, or more performers than one can be arranged if you say what you're picturing.
