About
Nick is a fire performer for hire in Melbourne, VIC.
Staff, thai staff, double staff, fire eating, fire breathing and fire snake poi. That's the working kit, and it comes with sparks, coloured flame, flame throwers, smoke and stage effects on top. Nick is a partner acrobat, foot juggler, glass walker and certified rigger as well as a fire performer, so the same booking can stretch a long way. There's a solo cabaret piece called Burnout, all ages but with a darker edge. There are five to fifteen minute solo fire sets built around your music and costuming. There's roving fire eating for smaller venues and fetes, duo fire acro, and giant bubbles when the crowd is mostly kids. Basic fire needs six by three metres of level, non flammable ground and four metres of clearance. Nick brings the LED perimeter, safety gear and basic lighting.

The show
Nick's prop work covers staff, thai staff, double staff, fire eating, fire breathing and fire snake poi, and that's before the effects go on top. He works with sparks, coloured flame, flame throwers, smoke and stage effects, which means the look of a show can change completely depending on what you're after. The music, the costuming and the effects all get worked out with you beforehand rather than being a fixed routine you're handed. He's a partner acrobat, foot juggler, glass walker and certified rigger too, so one booking can go further than you'd think.
On the day
How big the performance gets depends on the venue. He's worked small indoor rooms using LEDs, seated arenas of around 300, and festivals running into the thousands. For basic fire he needs 6m by 3m of level, non flammable ground with four metres of clearance overhead. He supplies the LED perimeter, the fire safety gear and basic lighting himself. If you'd like him to bring audio as well, flag it early.
Performance options
Burnout is his solo fire cabaret, an intense piece with a slightly dark tone that's still all ages appropriate. It's played Melbourne Fringe and Mildura Fringe. Beyond that, a solo fire show runs anywhere from five to fifteen minutes with costuming built around your music and event. He'll pull together a group of fire performers working in different styles if you want the full spread. There's roving fire eating for small venues and fetes, which puts him right among the crowd. Duo fire acro comes in burlesque or adult versions. And for a family crowd there's bubble roving, giant bubbles and a pile of bubble props, which small kids lose their minds over.
