About
Prosper Wong is a drummer for hire in Melbourne, VIC.
Prosper Wong is a Melbourne drummer who works in jazz, RnB, funk, fusion and pop. He held the drum chair for the 2025 Victorian State School Spectacular, and has played across a range of Melbourne venues. He brings his own kit, cymbals and hardware to the gig. The pitch is simple: if a wedding or function needs someone to lock the groove down and stay out of the way of it, that's the job he does.
Watch
The show
A drummer who knows the job and can move between styles without making a fuss about it. He can bring his own kit, cymbals and hardware to any venue, so there's no scrambling to source a backline or hoping the house kit is playable.
On the day
He arrives with drums, not with a PA. Anything on the audio side, speakers, desk, microphones, needs to come from the venue or a hire company if the event calls for it. Sort that out when you book so there are no gaps on the day.
