About
Guy Netanel is a DJ for hire in Rose Bay, NSW.
Vinyl only, and mostly records you won't recognise. Guy Netanel collects original pressings from around the world and builds sets out of Brazilian grooves, African rhythms, soulful jazz, Latin, Arabic melodies, blues, funk and soul. Top 40 is not what happens here. Each record gets chosen to match how the night is moving, so an event can sit in warm background territory early and build into something people dance to later. Two ways to book it: full sound system and DJ setup including delivery, sound check and pack down, or the DJ rig on its own plugged into the sound gear your venue already has. Based in Rose Bay.
The show
Top 40 is not what turns up. Guy Netanel plays original pressings collected from around the world, so a night runs through Brazilian grooves, African rhythms, soulful jazz, Latin, Arabic melodies, blues, funk and soul. Records get picked as the room moves, not from a running order written the week before. Early on that can mean warm, low, sit-under-the-conversation music. Later it turns into something people dance to. And because it's all vinyl, you'll hear music most of your guests won't have heard before.
On the day
Pick one of two setups. The first covers everything: a sound system sized to your venue and crowd, with speakers, subwoofers where they're needed, stands and cabling, plus the DJ rig with effects and recording, delivered, set up, sound checked and packed down. The second is the DJ rig alone, plugged straight into your venue's sound system, which suits rooms that already have good gear installed. Either way the space needs power and somewhere to stand the decks.
